STUDIO / GUIDE 02

Studio tour

Navigate the campaign library and canvas.

Campaign Studio has a campaign library and a workspace for each campaign. The workspace gives the canvas most of the screen, with mission tabs and contextual controls around it.

Campaign library

At /admin/studio, create or search campaigns and open a workflow. Each card shows draft or published status, draft version, revision count, production runs, playtests, and recent activity. Manage campaign exposes lifecycle actions such as playtest, publication, duplication, archive, and restore.

Campaign route

The top-level canvas shows missions and endings. Choose the entry mission explicitly. Connect a mission's named exit to another mission or to an ending. A mission node can exist before it is connected; validation will tell you what still needs attention.

Use the right palette to add a mission. Enter both titles in the dialog; the new node is selected and brought into view. Its starter graph is available immediately. Add or connect endings from the campaign graph controls.

Mission graph

Mission tabs switch from the campaign route to a mission's own workflow. The mission graph contains typed nodes and directed edges. Drag from an output port to an input port to connect them. Choice options and mission exits expose named ports; the selected port matters to the resulting route.

The palette groups node types into Story & exploration, Player interactions, and Flow control. Use its search field to find a node. Hide nodes gives the canvas more room; Show nodes restores the palette.

Canvas controls and inspector

Pan, zoom, fit the graph to view, and use the minimap to navigate. Move nodes to arrange the layout. Select an edge to remove it. Double-click a node to edit its settings; keyboard users can select an object and choose Edit node or Edit selection. The node dialog includes typed settings and an expandable player preview. Invalid targets, duplicate connections, incompatible ports, and cycles are rejected.

Positions are editor layout. The edges, ports, and node settings determine runtime behavior.

Workspace dialogs

  • Campaign settings holds campaign management, mission management, revisions, playtests, and portal directory settings.
  • Resources holds locations, content, media, and hidden answer material.
  • Player links shows production access and link controls after publication.

Forms show save state and use a shared draft version. If someone changes the same draft from Studio or MCP, a conflicting write asks you to re-read and reapply it. Unfinished form input is preserved where possible.
